Biography

Ms. Rooney earned her bachelor's degree from New York University, and her MSW from the University of Houston in 1985. She is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and chemical dependency counselor. She has extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance abuse settings. She was the clinical director of an inpatient day treatment program and evening eating disorders program for seven years until 1992 when she went into private practice. She has worked with adults with a variety of presenting problems, and has worked as a consultant psychotherapist with several nursing facilities providing psychotherapy with elder adults and their families.
